Setting up was complex, wouldn't pick up my wireless network, after hours on the phone to HP support, speaking with someone in Indonesia and explaining everything 5 times it was decided the printer was faulty. Apple had it to my door 2 days later, great service. buy a printer that is airprint and is known to work with TC. eg TC default is 10.0.1.1 set the dlink to 10.0.1.254 then setup the wireless to suit the printer. set the dlink to off dhcp and set its ip to the same range as the TC but different ip. plug it into the TC lan to lan port by ethernet. Otherwise i recommend you just use the dlink router.

See if there is a firmware upgrade for the printer. It might well work with the dlink because it is using tkip not aes for the setting of security. Set the security to wpa/wpa2 which is not as good, but if the printer is old it may not handle wpa2 AES. Set the wireless to fixed channel and fixed mode. so that you force things to new settings.Īll names short no spaces. I also have a Sony Bravia television I'm using to test the network connection, and the TV connects without any problem whatever I use the D-Link router or the TimeCapsule router: It works fine. I simply wonder if this HP printer is working with the latest version of TimeCapsule. So to me, it seems the network security setting is not the problem.

Printing the report form from the printer does simply say that the network SSID "" is not available. If I setup my TimeCapsule without any security, the printer detects there is no security (*) on my network but fails when it comes to establish the Wifi connection.
